Historians as scholars and digital humanists have access to digital tools and methods to convey the past to audiences around the world. Teaching and Learning History in the Digital Age began with the mindset of a public historian and educator. I created an Omeka site over how various nations memorialized World War I through monuments and memorials. The course concluded with my deeper understanding of how to teach historical and critical thinking skills to college students. I envision adding more to the Omeka site to encompass different aspects of the Great War such as World War I propaganda posters across different nations. This project has been the culmination of what I have learned through the digital humanities certificate. I look forward to expanding my project in the near future. The final project is located at the link below.
